Overall, this an extremely labor-intensive process, and, for the weekend warrior, this is not feasible, cost effective or very safe at all.
Without the creation of a proper base, the installation will not drain properly, which can lead to standing water, the potential for mold and mildew and other safety hazards. Not to mention – the loss of any aesthetic value! An improper installation will cost you more time and money over the long term. The turf becomes uneven, creating the potential for trip hazards and be very visually displeasing.
